Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Any one of the following:
  2. (1)At least 1 year of cumulative work experience in power cable installation, cable inspection, cable commissioning, cable O&M, power engineering or related work.
  3. (2)College diploma or above in Electrical Engineering and Automation, Power Engineering, Cable Engineering, Mechatronics, Energy Engineering or a related field.
  4. (3)Another Level 2 electrical or power engineering certificate certified by the China Global Professional and Technical Certification Center.

Examination Method:

  1. Theoretical examination: Computer-based or online written examination covering cable fundamentals, installation standards, O&M standards and safety procedures. Duration: 90 minutes.
  2. Practical assessment: On-site practical operation, installation demonstration and fault inspection/repair exercises. Assesses cable laying/installation, inspection/commissioning, operation/maintenance and fault handling. Duration: 120 minutes.

Assessment Content:

  1. Theoretical Knowledge: Fundamentals and types of power cables; cable laying and installation processes and standards; cable inspection and commissioning standards; operation and maintenance methods; cable fault diagnosis technology; electrical safety regulations.
  2. Operational Skills: Use specialized equipment and tools to install, inspect, commission, operate and maintain power cables; execute cable laying and installation standards; use testing equipment for cable fault diagnosis and location; handle technical problems in cable O&M; comply with electrical safety procedures.
