Port Equipment Technician is technical and skilled personnel engaged in the basic operation and maintenance of various equipment at ports and terminals. They are mainly responsible for completing daily inspections, basic maintenance, safety checks, and simple fault identification in port machinery and equipment under guidance, ensuring the safe and stable operation of such equipment.

Application Requirements:

Meet any one of the following conditions to register for Port Equipment Technician :

  1. (1) Be at least 18 years old, possess a basic level of education, and have a willingness to learn about port equipment operation and maintenance work.
    (2) Be currently enrolled or have obtained a college diploma or higher in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, automation, port equipment, or related majors.
    (3) Have relevant work experience in ports, logistics, industrial equipment, etc., with certain practical foundations; the duration of work experience is not a mandatory requirement.

Examination Method:

Divided into theoretical knowledge exam and operational skills assessment.

  1. (1) The Theoretical Knowledge Exam is primarily conducted via a written test or computer-based test, assessing the basic and relevant knowledge required for this occupation. Exam duration: 90 minutes.
    (2) The operational skills assessment is conducted through on-site practical operations or simulated operations, assessing the skill level required for this occupation. Exam duration: 60 minutes.

Assessment Content:

  1. (1) Theoretical Knowledge: Basic understanding of port equipment (quay cranes, RTGs, forklifts, conveying equipment, etc.), basic knowledge of mechanics, electricity, and hydraulics, basic electrical safety and equipment operation regulations, basic port operation safety and occupational health, basic maintenance procedures and workplace discipline.
    (2) Operational Skills: Daily inspection and basic maintenance of port equipment, identification and reporting procedures for simple anomalies, correct use of tools and execution of SOPs, correct wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE), filling out basic maintenance records.
